My experience in care

I am a values-driven Clinical Director with over 25 years’ experience in health and social care. I bring a unique blend of clinical excellence, senior operational leadership, and strong business acumen to Care Leaders Consultancy and our clients.

I first entered the care sector in 1999 and have been nurse-qualified since 2005, as a Registered General Nurse and formerly as a Registered Midwife. These foundations have shaped my lifelong commitment to safe, compassionate, and high-quality care. Throughout my career across the public and private sectors, I have consistently led with honesty, integrity, hard work, and equality and believe that when people are genuinely valued – both those who receive care and those who deliver it – organisations not only thrive but achieve sustainable success and outstanding reputations.

I have held senior operational and leadership roles, where I have successfully supported new-entrant and overseas nursing programmes, strengthened workforce pipelines and improved service resilience. I am particularly proud of my work embedding robust clinical supervision strategies across multiple providers, ensuring reflective practice, improved governance, and safer outcomes for both staff and people using services.

Alongside my clinical and leadership background, I hold leadership and management qualifications and completed a Healthcare Leadership module at Harvard University. I am a qualified Personal Performance Coach, which underpins my approach to developing confident, high-performing, and emotionally resilient teams.

As Clinical Director at Care Leaders Consultancy, I provide strategic clinical leadership with a strong commercial awareness, ensuring that quality, compliance, and business objectives are fully aligned. My focus is on building safe, scalable, and future-ready services that deliver exceptional care, inspire our workforce, and provide confidence and value for investors and partners alike.

My hobbies and interests

I am passionate about long-distance running, competing at both national and club events. I am also a keen open water swimmer, surfer, and Ironman athlete. I also spend time as a personal trainer and fitness coach, providing online coaching to clients, and I am an Event Director for an international running organisation and support a local parkrun community. I am also a congenital heart defect ambassador.

What I love about working in the care sector

“Nursing has taught me that care is not just something you give, it is something you share. It is a privilege to care for people in their most vulnerable moments, and it is a responsibility I carry with great pride and gratitude.”
